PCT Day 75: Eating in Incline Village

June 24, 2017

Incline Village

Slept in, as per usual. Getting back on to a trail schedule is going to be hard. Gummies and I made bagel and egg sandwiches with fried mushrooms and tomatoes for everyone for breakfast. It feels so good to be cooking and eating real food again. We spent the morning sitting on the couch staring at our phones, before heading into town in the afternoon.

We picked up some medication for Gummies so he hopefully won’t get altitude sickness again, and then went to the absolutely delicious Thai restaurant for lunch. Soooooo good. Headed home, had a nap. Woke up in time for an amazing dinner of veggie burgers (well, everyone else had steak), incredible mushroom sauce courtesy of Cougar, potatoes, roasted Brussels sprouts, and salad. And lots of drinks. We got a view of a beautiful sunset over the lake from the balcony. We all sat outside on the balcony after dinner drinking, listening to music, and talking. It felt like a real summer vacation kind of night.

Tomorrow is our last day of vacation before getting back on the trail, and I’m so ready. Relaxing has been really nice, but I’m definitely starting to get a bit antsy. One more day, one day more.
